Steely Morgan, a podcast host with a bizarre problem—she falls asleep on boring dates—goes viral after a disastrous dinner. Discouraged, she’s ready to quit dating until Jake, her childhood friend and bar owner, suggests a “practice date” to help her reset her perspective. Their chemistry is effortless, and for the first time, Steely stays wide awake.

Determined to keep dating, Steely pursues Theo, a charming and successful man. Meanwhile, Jake starts dating too. When they go on a double date, Steely’s jealousy flares up, making her question her true feelings. When Jake unexpectedly kisses her, she panics, brushing it off as practice. But deep down, she knows the truth.

As she prepares for a her first live podcast show, Steely realizes love shouldn’t feel exhausting—it should feel like waking up. Jake rushes to catch Steely before her tour takes off and professes his love to her. They share a beautiful kiss sealing the start of their journey.
